We had a beautiful walk around Loch Muick, with the wind dropping after an icy-cold start, sunshine accompanying most of the walk and stunning light changes - what a gorgeous spot! We set out quite late in the day, so fairly quiet on the paths, just a few other walkers and some mountain bikers, and the evening colours as we completed the 7.75 mile circuit. Ann is keen to go and stay in the house on the lake - built by Queen Victoria in remembrance of Prince Albert, as a quiet getaway from the busier parts on the Balmoral Estate. So she plans to make friends with the current Royal family and see if she can get an invite! Here's the walk guide and description: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cairngorms/loch-muick.shtml And here are some photos from our hike:
Avesbury the other Stonehange and Stonehenge from afar. Jackie playing the conk and sounded inside the gorgeous compelling barrow that we almost passed by so glad we hiked to it.
For the last week of September and first week+ of October, Magic Space is going On The Road.... Ann Watkins arrived at the start of September to join us for September's month of Wellbeing Practitioners in Residence. After 3 weeks at Trevellan and exploring the beauty of Cornwall, Jackie and Ann are now off on a roadtrip in the lovely Yummy Calypso VW T4 camper van, up to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and the granite Cairngorms. We'll be posting photos and reflections here as we go... First stop, a family visit to Sidmouth, Devon, followed by an overnight stop at Street in Somerset, to reconnect with the lovely Jeni Edge, who was also a guest Wellbeing Practitioner at Trevellan for a long weekend of eudaimonia (good life well lived) and Clean Touch earlier this month. Thanks to Hilary, Marianne, Otto and Muesli for keeping the peace at Trevellan in my absence :)
